Despite my lackluster review of the other Bess Crawford book I've read (so meh, can't even remember the name), I decided to give old bess another go. And I liked this book so much more, though it could be because I have a soft spot for the name peregrine. So read it!

A Duty to the Deadis a perfect example of why I don't have a couldn't finish file. This book starts off very slow. Slow enough that I almost gave up on the book. I am really happy I didn't though. Having patience, after the first 150 pages, the book was a great read.
