Something of a rough beginning but I enjoyed it. I thought Jonas was refreshingly frank, though I doubt historically accurate.

This was a tear jerker and wonderful tale that is not at all fair. Ok so the story starts out with Lydia as a young teenage women who is pregnant and been abandoned… basically told she is worthless with no moral fiber by her physician. Jonas is witnessing this situation as an apprentice for a phys...

I'm not big on historical romance's anymore, but I really enjoy Milan's short stories. She manages to pack a lot into these eBooks and I love that she goes outside of the typical tropes found in the genre. In A Kiss For Midwinter, Dr. Jonas Grantham has let the harsh realities of his profession turn...

During the first 3/4th quarter of the book, I wept, or felt like weeping. There was so much sadness, primarily in Dr. Grantham's outlook of the world; then in Lydia's realization that she hadn't moved on from the past hurts. Then they saved each other. It was beautiful. This story was certainly an emo...

This is a lovely novella that takes place between the first and second book in the Brothers Sinister series by Courtney Milan. This follows Lydia Charingford, the best friend of Minnie from book one in the series. Lydia has experienced some hardships in her past that only the closest people to her k...

This was an utterly delightful novella and one of my favorite Christmas reads so far this season. One of the things I really loved about this book was the fact that the hero and heroine were not titled. They were just normal people, but in the Victorian era. They both had struggles and challenges ...

4.5 stars. Oh, this was such a sweet, heart-tugging, holiday historical romance. In a genre thick with Dukes and Earls and wealthy business men, I loved how this hero was just a 'mere' Doctor. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments too, including his father who was a 'hoarder' living neck deep i...

I liked this one. It had sweet moments, it had bitter moments; it made me cry, laugh, and cheer. Lydia and Jonas are well matched, especially considering I wanted to shake one or the other of them several times. I liked how her regard for him came slowly, with each bit of knowing him that she experi...

This book is a companion book to The Duchess War and stars Minnie's friend Lydia and the town Doctor, Jonas Grantham. The StoryLydia had A Big Event happen to her at a very young age,...
