Allan Langdale is a freelance travel writer who is an adjunct lecturer in art history at UC Santa Cruz . He also works in the travel industry with Zegrahm Expeditions, Smithsonian Journeys, and Lindblad/National Geographic. Allan co-produced and co-directed the award-winning documentary film 'The Stones of Famagusta: the Story of a Forgotten City', and wrote the definitive field guide for the architecture and archaeology of northern Cyprus. He has published several articles on the architecture of Cyprus, essays on the work of the British art historian Michael Baxandall, and edited and wrote the introduction for a reissue of the classic work of early film theory by Hugo Munsterberg, 'The Photoplay, A Psychological Study' (Routledge). His most recent publication is a travel book on Palermo, Sicily, 'Palermo: Travels in the City of Happiness'.
