Wow, Charles Dickens is using Ann Charles as a pen name? Nope. Even if it's not Dickens this has been the best of the Deadwood Mysteries as of yet. Violet Parker really becomes the "Scharfrichter" in this book and takes her crew to Slagtown to take on the Hunter and is scouts, to try to become t...

Tequila & Time is # 7.5 in the Deadwood Mysteries Series. One thing I've found out about this series is the .5 novellas are hit and miss, and for me, this was a miss. For me, this was 76 pages of two women getting sloppy drunk and doing what the author thinks these two 30 somethings would do when...

I like these no-brainer mystery/horror (very light on the horror) books by Ann Charles. After reading the first two Dune books this was a welcomed vacation from books that require extra brain powerlifting. I think this is the best in the Deadwood Mysteries series that I have read to date. This i...

Deadwood South Dakota is one of those places you want to move to just so you can be friends with Violet, Doc and old man Harvey. What an amazing bunch of characters Ann Charles has created! I love the bloody weapons on the covers - sure they're gruesome but it just embodies everything that happens t...

I really enjoyed this book!! I have read other books by Ms Charles, and this is right on par with what I expected. She has a gift for crafting towns with lots of quirky fun characters, snarky leading ladies and yummy fellas!I love Claire and her relationship with her grandfather, hid cronies and his...

I REALLY liked this book. I REALLY have to read the first two. I feel like I was tossed into a soap opera mid season mid episode completely absorbed but completely lost at the same time but too engrossed in the story to stop watching.

"Dance of the Winnebagos" is a light little romantic mystery, heavy on the heavy breathing, light on the mystery. Claire has been sent with her grandfather when he goes to Arizona to stay in an RV park with his buddies in the hopes of meeting some women. Claire's job is to keep him out of trouble. ...
