What a lovely list! One question, tho: Do I have to be concerned about the penguins in Penguins and Mortal Peril? Or are the penguins fine and someone else is in mortal peril. I could live that. If it is the penguins, tho....I don't know.
It's the zookeeper who is in mortal peril. Don't fret for the penguins, although who knows how traumatized they will be to find their caretaker at the bottom of the pool?

:O Sounds terrific! :)
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
I just finished Candace Robb's "Apothecary Rose" -- it's perfect for the "read by candlelight" square!
Excellent! I've so enjoyed the Brother Cadfael series, I want to see if I enjoy this series too.
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
I'm not sure this is true for the entire series, but the first book has definite similarities to "Cadfael" ... only as a story told from what might be the POV of Hugh Beringar, or someone like him, before he took up his position as (Under-)Sheriff of Shropshire. Overall I still prefer the "Cadfael" novels, but I will definitely continue this series as well.
Good to know. My gentleman friend was less than enthused over this one. Why do I ever let him read something first? He's also "meh" about Dorothy Sayers, leading me to consider kicking him to the curb!
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
I think "meh" about Dorothy L. Sayers really says all that matters ...
