I've heard lots of good things about Beth Moore so maybe this just wasn't a good first introduction to her. I was looking for a daily devotional but the thoughts in this one were just too short and shallow for me to really enjoy. Obviously I didn't need to read a whole year's worth to know this wasn...

I started reading this book thinking it would be a serious study about the time period and the works concerning the topic. I was especially looking forward to etymological analysis (which I was led to believe from reviews was a key component of the book). Instead I found a personal interpretation of...

Disclaimer: I bought this thinking it was the original "Breaking Free" and was very disappointed to discover that was not the case :( Instead, this is a devotional based on her book "Breaking Free", and my initial disappointment probably coloured my opinion of the book itself. As devotionals go, it's...

Beth brought out some very key examples from Scripture that dove deep into my heart in ways I wasn't prepared for at first. I couldn't make it to all the sessi...

This is one of the most important books I've read in the past five years. I say it fills a gap because of the way it so clearly addresses the specific topic of spiritual "seduction." The anonymous Amazon reviewer of 3/26/02 did a good job of describing what that is and is not. In contrast to the wil...

This is only my second Beth Moore book, so I may not be a good judge, but I have found Moore to be a surprisingly rich Christian writer. Her books aren't full of you-shoulds and you-shouldn'ts; instead she draws on her personal experiences to talk about living an authentic Christian life.
