I like reading books about the craft of writing. I like feeling like I'm not alone, listening to someone else that gets it. And my goodness does Anne Lamott get it. Reading BIRD BY BIRD was like tapping into my chaotic brain and hearing all the neurotic thoughts that run around in there read back to...

Really abstract in how it's done, but it works so fantastically. I can't say enough good things about this comic, it really goes above and beyond

I love Lamott's humor in general and I enjoyed this book about how difficult it can be to write and how to overcome that. She's taught writing and many of her tips come from things that worked for her students.

One of the best books about writing, up there with King's On Writing.

There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed. - Ernest HemingwayOne writer I know tells me that he sits down every morning and says to himself nicely,
