After getting past the fact that these barque cats were not in the same universe as the barque cats I was familiar with from the Talents series, and the fact that it read more like a YA novel, I enjoyed the story. This one just didn't do it for me. The characters were all victims and the cats were too whiny for me. I ended up skipping 1/4 of the book, near the end just so I could read the ending. It didn't do anything for me.
