The irony to the fact that everything was in the hotel is that I still felt disconnected to many of the participants. There were no large meeting places for meals, etc and therefore I missed a lot of folks (including you!!!!). I will be going next year as it is in my 'hood'. Hopefully I can help do some recon and such to help the event.
Yes, right! Because the only all-together-meal was the one with the author, all lunches were do-it-your-own. I still remember last years BBQ lunch, hosted by Silver and I had a very good talk with Val Kovalin:) Something like that didn't happen this year. For a short moment I even thought of perhaps doing a stop-over in Chicago next year - until I saw that the supposed venue is about 30min away from O'Hare and I think the airport is already quite some way outside of the city.
I was going to try and stop over at the Bristol event, but now my trip to Europe has to move from June to July. I am not interested in the Rainbow con event and since it is the first for them as organizers, I am going to take a wait and see approach. If it goes well, then I will see about next year.
Two cousins decided to get married on the 7th and 24th - which makes it impossible to do the three week trip I had planned, thus moving it to July. Maybe next year!!
oh see I loved ALBQ. That was my favorite. I had issues with the first one. We are going to Uk, France, Germany (hopefully a hop to Austria) and Italy. My son wants to follow the WWII path through Europe. Our next trip will be to follow the war through Eastern Europe!
