I saw that Egyptian Gods link on io9! So fascinatingly fun to read and I nerdly loved the Stargate comments, lol

I loved that multiple people chimed in with their own favorite gods! I'd also love to know how many of those were converted thanks to the King Tut exhibitions - I think those had a lot to do with making a lot of kids interested in Egyptology.
Lord knows it did with me; and I didn't even get to see the show! (But instead we went to the usual Egyptian collection at the Met, which is great, and it was deserted except for an Egyptologist, who was quite willing to tell a 12-year-old all sorts of interesting things about the exhibit. I'll take that!)

I couldn't get into the nearest Tut show myself - it was all sold out. But I was an Egypt junky forever after. I even had a hologram necklace with the Tut deathmask on it. Which I felt was the coolest, most Star Wars-ish thing ever.
We were there at the right time, but my mother had already seen him when he was at the British Museum, the line was GINORMOUS, and I knew she tired easily, so I was happy to go with the other plan.

We got my grandmother an eye of Horus pin; I still have it, and wear it sometimes.
