Oh my! I can't believe a professor actually said that reading is a feminine thing! And hey, if your niece is reading, at least she's not getting into trouble, right?
I need to get used to the message getting sent when I hit enter *sigh*
I always read when I was little, too - and I am still very social - so that generalization is nil :)
Have a great day!
Yep, that guy! It only got worse too, lol! The whole class was focused on gender things and I was thisclose to completely breaking down. The only time I had any validity to one of the things I was saying was when one of the men in class agreed with me and shut ol' boy down. :(
YES!! Hahaha! I swear, if you'd been there--you'd be like, what fucking planet am I on?! I thought hard about walking out, true story, because I was so upset. About the reading part, not the part where the only time I was taken seriously was when the dude spoke up on my behalf. :/
It sounds like you've gone back in time or something. I swear to God if that shit happened to me it'd be full on rage-mode. The teacher would be the primary target. It's his fucking responsibility to moderate those fucktards. From that convo we had earlier it seems like he's one of the instigators. For shame.
Me too. I don't think I'd have *quite* as strong a reaction to that if not for GR. I'd have still been furiously explaining
that readers are social pariahs, but I wouldn't have felt like I was having some kind of attack, lol.
