I thought it was a nice spin on the topic — and I loved that it was the non-English historian who uncovered the significance. I also liked the way Hare played with the notion of “doing the right thing“.
There was a particular paragraph about "plain English" that I particularly enjoyed in the grand scheme of the non-English main character explaining all of the goings on in the story. I'm sure you know which one I mean. ;)
It really was. I mean, it was a Golden Age mystery and just perfect to chill with...nothing too taxing...but I really liked it. It made me laugh, too.
This was my second by the author and I think I need to read his other books.
Re Pitt I got the first part but would not in a million years have been able to follow it through to the conclusion Hare drew.
