It's been fine so far apart from a few comments at the start that made me roll my eyes, but it's an intriguingly weird story. It's like the ultimate escapism - and given the mention of some of the strains that some of the characters seem to feel it makes me wonder whether Hilton wrote the ultimate interwar fantasy here.

Equally, it makes me want to grab one of the unread mountaineering books that is sitting on my shelf.
