Is she a toddler, though? I thought her to be six or seven. But yes, they tried to bribe a child. I told you I wasn´t overly fond of Alleyn in this book.

I have no idea how old she is but I thought she might be around 4 or 5. So, yeah, maybe not quite a toddler anymore, but still, this is really weird.

Yep, it is. They clearly didn´t know how to handle a small child, which resulted in that very backhanded and akward way of getting the information they needed out of her. I really liked how Angela reprimanded them for what they were doing.

I'm not questioning the ethics of bribing a small child, but this exchange has made me curious about the book...

From what I understand, bribery is essential in parenting. But the nature of the bribe seems really silly in this case.
