I love the idea and will keep an eye on the reading list. :) I don't read much historical fiction, tho.

What?! Don't like historical fiction? How are we friends?
Joking aside, The Crown is a Tudor era suspense novel, so it may appeal to mystery readers as well. What do you prefer to read?

What?? I never said I didn't like it. Just happen to opt for non-fiction about history more often than fiction. Suspense and mystery, eh???

I knew I could pressure you into it ;-)
Nonfiction history works too!

Ok, it may take me some time to read. There is sooo much going at the moment, and I really want to The Silence of the North which has been waiting patiently on my night stand for weeks. So, will read this in parallel.

Btw, come to think of it, the book about the first woman to circumnavigate the world in a car I've started is fiction - it is a true story but it's not written as a serious/academic biography. So, I do read historical fiction but maybe focusing on more modern history. ;)

I get about as modern as WWII, but I tend to have a gap between the Tudor era and WWI that I'm not as educated about other than the occasional Revolutionary War or Civil War book. Medieval is my addiction.

Yeah, I probably don't often go much further back than the 1800s. So, this should be both fun AND educational. :)

Awesome! I'm looking forward to it. I'll have to start a discussion for nominations.

I may join you some months--I've already got too many books stacked up for March.
Carpe Librum 10 years ago
Yay! That's why I picked one I was already going to read, but it's alright if nobody joins me. We'll put more thought into a selection for next month.

Is it ok if I have to skip some months? Between a stack I've already committed to read & my work schedule, I might not be able to finish a book within the month.

Absolutely! This will be informal....How do book clubs enforce reading requirements anyway? I promise I won't be kicking anyone out ;-)
Yeah, my reading along may be spotty, but I'm always interested.

That's how I am in most of the groups I am in as well. There's just too much that I want to read!

Phew!! ;)
