I loved this! It was recently brought back into publication by Valancourt Books. There's even an Audible version, which is the one I listened to.
I enjoyed the slowly building dread and the sense of being increasingly hemmed in.
That's great! I'm glad it's finally getting a second chance. The original Avon paperback, despite selling incredibly well, was for some reason the only mass market edition of the book. I actually read this several weeks ago but have been too busy to post. Thinking about it makes me want to pick it up again.

If you like this old 70's and 80's horror, then keep an eye on Valancourt. They've released a few more this year, (this one among them), but next year they're working with Grady Hendrix and coming out with a PAPERBACKS FROM HELL horror line. It will consist of horror from that era. I don't think I've ever been this excited about a line of books in my entire life.
Thanks, someone else pointed that out to me on my blog. Coincidentally I submitted this review to the Friday's Forgotten Books series, and two others reviewed the same book. I guess it isn't really that forgotten... I'll certainly try to keep more informed about these reprints. Now only if I can find more time to read.
