Interesting article. As a criminal prosecutor, a huge part of my job is telling the victim's story to a finder of fact. I consider it to be a literally sacred duty to tell it with as much honesty and integrity as humanly possible. Truth is more compelling than fiction, although hardly ever as clear. Kathleen Hale's story was little truth, much mythologizing, and almost entirely self-serving. She is an unreliable narrator, claiming the moral high ground.
This is why it pisses me off so much.
