The romance aspect didn't really work for me in this one. It was more about the heroine's journey to wanting to be heard. The last part of this book made me want to hug every woman older than me and thank them for getting me to where I am today.
See, that's the thing, though: Milan has a graduate degree in theoretical physical chemistry from UC Berkeley. She's a STEM author! The science is fine; it's the heroine's emotional responses that are out of whack (at least they seem so to me).
