I read it on my kindle app on my phone and ipad (depending on my location) -- otherwise, I think it would have been too heavy to read as fast as I did (and it still took me 5 days). I will say this: for such a long book, the plot never drags.
I've had this on my bookshelf for almost 2 years now and totally forgot about it! But I just bought it for my Kindle last week so I'm gonna read it as soon as i'm done with what I'm reading now!!
I'm excited to read it! I've already read the first couple of pages and was very pleased!!!! xo
Stick with the next 2 to 3 for sure, they are just as good. After that I think the hype made her more longwinded at times.....the later books are really long and a slower pace.
So glad you enjoyed Outlander! It really is epic and Jamie is a great hero. Take your time with the books. They'll be there, either on your kindle or in any library. I read 1-3 (?) over a span of a few months, on and off, and then 4 right after it came out. I agree, these are dense books, and so would take a lot of commitment and fine-motor strength to read back to back in a full-on glom. :) And, yes, as a beginning novelist too, the idea of this is what she just popped out is, ahem, amazing.
Welcome to the Clan! I'm glad you enjoyed it truly, I have loved these books since a friend introduced me right around when the third book was released and I am breathless with anticipation to see it come to the (small) screen. Hope you get to Dragonfly in Amber soon but be ready, you'll need Voyager on hand right after!
I agree with quibble #1....unfortunately it is one of the parts I remember the most, because I was upset by it. As for Lord John I think he is redeemed later (though it's been awhile since I read them). I need to re read Outlander before the show starts!
I thought (and I haven't read them) that the Lord John in the spin offs is Lord John Grey, not Jonathan Randall (who dies at Culloden). Is there another gay bad guy?
'Black' Jack Randall is the 'gay bad guy' and does NOT have his own spin off and is redeemed. You are correct that Lord John is John Grey the 'gay not bad guy' ;D
But Randall is redeemed? How does that happen, exactly? No, don't tell me, but I'll say this: I think even any attempt to redeem him will piss me off, because some things are unforgiveable.
I'm excited to read it! I've already read the first couple of pages and was very pleased!!!! xo
