Totes agree! if I can't imagine myself being friends with or at least respecting the character, it greatly affects how much I enjoy the book.

Likability is so important to me. If I hate the main character there is a good chance I will not like the book (and that's if I stick with it. I DNF a lot when I hate the main characters.)
