Did you ever watch the tv miniseries with Timothy Dalton as Rhett Butler that was a sequel toGWTW? I remember watching it when I was pretty young but I liked it. May have been because of Dalton though ;)

I haven't watched the tv miniseries but I have heard that it is a bit different than this book so I would be willing to see it. I have heard about the miniseries and from what I've seen people tend to like it more than the book. I'll have to see where I can get it.

I'm surprised you gave it even a whole star (presumably because you did at least read it quickly). All that in Ireland and *poof* foreign female stranger is now ... *gag* and everything from her going there including birthing still yet more children and totally twisting around Scarlett's maternal bits to up to the end and some Rhett reappearances was just even utterly more boring than the opening bits where reader still had hopes it was a continuation — in addition to unfaithful to the character, the time period, and the setting.

Yeah I gave it one star instead of half a star because I did read it pretty fast (at least it had that going for it). I was just amazed at how weird things could get in this book. It did seem at the start that we would actually be going through a good sequel (or at least decent) and then it turned into something I have a hard time even describing.

"The O'Hara" *cackle*

I need to reread this one day to see if it's as bad as I remember.
