What a bizarre coincidence: I've just finished updating the catalogue entry for this book on LibraryThing to show the audiobook version and add in some dates. I've owned this book since 2016 but have never gotten past the first chapter. I liked the cover and the concept but somehow it's never been the book that I've been called to reach for when I'm looking for my next read.

Now I'm wondering if I should just admit to a mis-buy and move on.

The beginning is a bit bland and flat. You should give it a go for at least 3 or 4 chapters - or at least till Sebastian leaves home. It's not a bad book, just some of the stuff didn't work for me. I could do without reading about the animal cruelty - it's an important part of the story, but it isn't pleasant to read. This isn't a book I would recommend, but since you already have it you might as well see what it's about?
