You know, we could simply collect all of our tags & if I find a computer that I can use in a position other than sitting, I would happily create such a list or spreadsheet or something.
Good idea. And actually, we could just start a list and add to it as we read. That might be less overwhelming. Hmm, I hadn't actually meant to start a project, but I'm getting very interested in this now...
Ddividing the list would also make it easier to create and maintain the list, as (unlike on GR) only the list creator can add books to the list -- dividing by genre would allow us to spread out list maintenance over several shoulders. And yeah, projects like these have a way of auto-genesis around here ... :D
me too. I'm going to take a look over my books and see what's what. I'll start a little project offline and bring it back for volunteers by genre. Maybe we could have teams or something. Or at least we could be aware of who wants to cultivate what list, then we can send recommendations to each other. Ohh - this could be awesome!
It might be useful to have a methodology for the list creators to use in curating the lists so that there is some sort of process for choosing the books. I could volunteer to help with mystery and with literary fiction. I'm weak on sci fi, non fiction & memoir, and middling on fantasy and romance.
I'll copy out the criteria they used as well as the groupings they made. We surely don't have to stick to it, but it gives us a basic map to start. I'll get on that this week. Trying to figure out best way to do this -- just go by blog posts or create a group or use one of the ones we already have.... Thoughts welcome. I'll post again about this when I've got the stuff copied.
