I read The Handmaid's Tale shortly after it came out in '85 and haven't read it since, I think because it made such a deep, indelible impression. I've been hesitant to try The Testaments because I don't want to be disappointed.
It is a very different perspective and mood, except for the snippet at the end which is very similar to the faux conference notes at the end of Handmaid. It's a marvelous expansion of the world: more different women, more points of view, more well-founded rage.

I read Handmaids Tale recently. Can you tell me if this answers the unanswered question at the end of the first book?
