Agree with much of what you've said. While I enjoy the visuals of Booklikes, it is hard to keep track of friends. I've made a habit of checking back to the poster's feed when people 'like' my posts and discover I've missed posts from people I am following. LM isn't there yet, but it's improving.

I hear you on being behind with reviews. I'm considering (not that I've done it yet) doing very short ones, just to acknowledge I've read it.

I think I need to get over the urge to review every single thing I read. It's verging on OCD,heheh.

One thing that LM lacks right now (I mean besides the technical issues) is an audience. I don't think that people are that active there yet, but hopefully that will change. Booklikes seems pretty active, but aside from the friends you already have I find it hard to find new people to follow, or see what people say about a particular book. The interface is kinda too clunky for me, too. And, it's a little redundant, having a Wordpress account also. I like the spirit of Booklikes, I'm just wondering if it will still be relevant to my particular needs. Of course, if there was some kind of option to automatically cross-post between sites that would be great.

GR still has that appeal of having a huge pool of users and potential audience. I still use it to see what people say about a particular book I come across, as you mentioned in one of your reviews that you have done the same, but I can't bring myself to contribute. Besides the censorship issue, looking back there were far too many weird happenings even before the Amazon takeover that leads me to suspect some amount of misuse of personal information for marketing purposes. I'm also sick of the ads that are supposedly tailored to what I like to read but fail in weird, awkward ways.

LM, I think, is a step in the right direction. If they added a blog feature that'd be cool. Automated cross-posting would be cool, too. The free-speech aspect is important to me and you and many others, but I think it doesn't really matter to a lot of Goodreaders. So hopefully LM is cooking up some other things beside that aspect to woo Goodreaders to LM. The only thing still appealing about GR are the users and the database. Once LM works on that a bit I think things will go mor smoothly.

Just a thought, though, I wonder if Amazon's legal department is going to have a fit about LM's format. It wouldn't surprise me...
Ah, btw, sorry about the malaise. Mine seems to be manifesting as orneriness more than malaise. I'm balancing all three sites at the moment, but that can't last. I wish they would put together LM faster, so it could gain momentum. There was a rush of people and the slowness keeps them from coming back.

GR has less and less appeal to me. I am SO tired of author spam. I'm also really tired of trolls--my reviews are my reviews--I don't mind trying to discuss a book, but I'm flat out tired of people telling me I'm wrong. That doesn't seem to happen in these smaller communities. I'm also noticing GR ads as way, way more annoying, especially the flash.

I don't know the ins/outs of LM-GR legalities. I hope LM has it figured out.
