Be cautious about this one. So far, they're essentially treated as slaves. There's one that seems to be trying to gain more freedom. She's in the next game/novel in the series, so I'm hopeful that things go okay for her, but I don't know yet whether she'll gain her freedom as she is or whether she'll need to gain it by being declared somehow "not a robot."
You'd get rage-y at some of the dialogue that happened during the "this story has robots" revelation. "We don't have slavery here. It was abolished decades ago. What we're doing isn't slavery, because only people can be slaves, and these things are objects, not people." Not word for word, but yeah... :-/
That is actually a possibility. There is some dark stuff going on behind the scenes in this town. I'm guessing I haven't even found out the half of it yet. Judging by others' total gameplay times and the chapter I'm currently on, I think I have 3-4 hours to go before I'm finished.
Yeah. About 5-7 hours of total gameplay time, you have to wait about 2-3 hours before you even get to the surprise robots, and then to have their introduction come with rage-inducing dialogue. I have a feeling I'll be buying part two because the overall story has sucked me in and I'm in love with the music and artwork, but as things currently stand I probably wouldn't recommend this one to you, surprise robots or no.
Is there a possibility that these people might get, say, their heads caved in?
And that's a lot of time to get involved in a game that I know will already enrage me on some level...
