Yeah IDS as he is generally known is definitely a total hypocrite. They all are though really. The Prime Minister bangs on about the poorer in the country and how we should help them more yet you don't see ANY of them giving back the 3/4 of the expenses they don't actually NEED or anything like that.

It's a little more complicated than that. They actually bring in substantially more revenue than they cost, and Liz has her personal fortune on top of what the govt pays her to play Queen for the tourist trade.
Yeah and actually she gave a load back at one point there was a whole thing can't remember how it worked now but a fair bit went back into the coffers (or never came out in the first place). As far as I know that was all them. And yes, they cost us, but as Lora said the income outweighs the outgoing at least for now. They are not exempt from contempt though far from it! You'll find plenty of anti Royals over here! Me, I can take them or leave them. No harm no foul.
