This does look very interesting. I first heard about the "theft" of Native American children from a professor in lecturing about her research project in developing a prenatal care program in Alaska, as she described the deep mistrust of western medicine and white do-gooders, especiall
y concerning their children, that had to be addressed before the program could be successful.

It was very well done...got the point across without being preachy and drew this reader in. Some of the worst injustices were and are still being done by governments "doing something for the good of the people", like modern welfare. Wagamese has a new book, Medicine Walks, coming out in April 2014 that I'm really looking forward to reading. One is always wise to deeply mistrust "do-gooders".

Many do tend to have their own agendas, don't they?

Thanks for your kind words. I really enjoyed this book and would happily recommend to all readers. it is rare that a book entertains readers while educating them at the same time...Wagamese successfully did both.
