I really have to take issue with you complaint about repetition. Kids don't mind repetition of things until they are taught to mind by adults. They revel in it; it is how they learn. A child can gleefully watch the same movie, read the same book and play the same game over and over again. Songs have repeating choruses; kids love them. Repetition of a refrain can be found in many, many children's books--look at Chicka Chicka Boom or Hands, Hands, hands Finger Thumb or a myriad of other children's titles. If children didn't love the repetition, it wouldn't be used. If parents find repeating things a hassle or a bore, then wait until their children demand to be read the same book night after night after night.
