This is the one Austen I have a hard time liking. I freely acknowledge all the points that make it a classic, but after multiple re-reads, I just don't like Emma herself. Not so much that I'll never re-read it again, mind you. :D

I think most people feel as you do, based on reviews I’ve read. I don’t know why I’m so fond of this one, except that I can connect with being young and stupid and having to live with the knowledge that I’m not the only victim of my stupidity.
