I know! the positive reviews is one of the reasons I'm persevering. It's not too unusual for me to feel this way when listening to the audio of a book with a lot of characters whose stories aren't necessarily connected at first. But together with the jumping timelines and constant character reflections on their own past, it's like timelines within timelines and characters within characters. This might be one of those that might be better in text than on audio, although the narrator is very good.
