Gah! I know! Be still my heart! I only read P&P for the first time last year and hadn't seen any of the films/tv adaptations either so I was a late starter but I'm making up for lost time and I'm just obsessed now. I'm thinking about re-reading but it's still quite fresh in my mind so I'm filling time with some Elizabeth and Darcy spin offs. :D
I've read a few that I've liked (spin offs that is) and some are ridiculous. It is highly subjective I think and aside from published novels there are Austen FF sites galore. The last novel I read was called Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife by Linda Berdoll (IT HAS SMUT!) and I loved it!! :D
That one rings a bell, I've been trying to hunt down any I can find and I recognize the author name (it stuck with me because I thought it said BEDROLL to start with), lol.
Some of the books that I've found look a bit suspect. I'm willing to give them quite a bit of leeway but I'm not reading crap just for the sake of it, there are just too many other great books out there waiting patiently.
Haven't ventured down the FF sites (yet) but it's on my radar for when the books dry up :D
Although, I might love Austen's other books when I get to them and there's a whole new avenue to sample!
LOVE!
