I LOVED it - the Adrien English series is still one of my all-time favourites!
Lanyon is one of my favourite authors in m/m - he has a unique writing style and I totally dig it :-)
So go for it!
That's good to hear! a friend of mine who read it said I might not like it because it's too slow. I'm not sure what that means but I'll give it a go anyhow :) and yeah, I planned for the first two for this month :)
They are a bit slow in the sense that the romance between the two main characters develops over the course of the five books - back and forth. I loved it, because it felt real, and not so cliched (no meet, mate and procreate formula .-)). I'd say, just give it a try - my fingers are crossed, that you like it :-)
:) I remember that I was quite impatient with Cut & Run but you ARE right it's better this way in a sense. I mean, it depends, sometimes you want to hit them in the head for not "going for it"!
lol, so true :-)
Regarding bedroom action it really is VERY slow, but it does pick up later on. And I enjoyed them a great deal, even re-read them two or three times...
I didn't mean "going for it" just for the bed scenes but generally for hitting it off and stop disliking each other (which usually is the case) or lying to one another about the other one not being important etc.
I felt that there was an attraction, a certain tension right away, but I also would classify it as "slow burn" (my favourite). The five books more or less cover all kinds of dramatic or undramatic gay relationship issues/stages/dynamics...
It's a pity, because the end itself was more or less ok, but I didn't get the hearts-and-flowers-moment. It wasn't necessary and it disturbed the otherwise very realistic pacing... It was more like there was too much closure, you know what I mean? He could have either wrote a longer epilogue with a view into the near future or just left them at the beginning of their budding romance...
It felt a bit like a big shiny wrap-up, just to have them neatly organized in their love story...
