Dang. I enjoyed book 1 but I felt he needed to work on his female characterization. I guess it didn't get any better.

Yeah, I loved the first book and I agree that his female characterization was a little hollow. I gave him slack because I loved the world, and the idea of Ree so much. But she hasn't grown as a character at all. In fact, in this situation she feels younger than her supposed age. This is a high school scenario, to me.

Ree isn't making smart decisions, and not in way that fleshes out her character either. They're just obviously plot driven bad choices, which is annoying and pulls me out of the story. :/
:(

Well, that kills some of the anticipation. But Mt. TBR can use a little melt-off. ^.^ Especially since I just threw Malazan Book of the Fallen on top.

hahaha There's always a bright side, I guess. I'm going to keep plodding through, but I may end up flouncing this. It's so slow and I'm all but disengaged and apathetic about the story. Which I guess means I can move on to stuff I might actually enjoy reading.
