Hehe, sorry 'bout the Cranberries -- just couldn't resist. (Mostly because I seem to have "in your head" stuck inside my head, too ... or anyway, it popped up immediately upon my reading that question.)
As for matching books and bookmarks, no, I don't do that -- somehow my taste in art and decorative things doesn't seem to match up very well with the topics (and settings) of the books I read. It might work for certain books of historical fiction, now that I come to think of it, but other than that ... no. Also, I try to save the more "decorative" bookmarks anyway, so really most of the time it's just a matter of grabbing what happens to be topmost on the "daily bookmark duty" stack on my bedside table.
I'm not sure I have any favorites among the more decorative bookmarks. Perhaps the silver-plated heirloom ones in the top row -- and the flower and elephant ones in the middle row, and the cats of course!
You know, I hadn't thought of that incident in years, but as I was responding to BrokenTune's question, it popped back into memory. It's definitely the most dramatic example of my inability to split my attention; the other 99.9% of examples consist of me getting into trouble for not listening when someone's speaking. :)
