The writing as such is actually quite decent -- and of course the location is fabulous (must have been even more so before the Skye bridge was built) ... but God, those people are awful. One worse than the next.

They really were terrible. The best thing about it was that location, which was a stunner. That's really what made the biggest impression on me when I read it years ago!

No wonder!
