I'm glad you liked this. Thanks for the link to the interview - that was new to me. I love the King's Lynne pictures. I've never been there but I know a few people who moved to Norfolk from London and would never move back.

I've read the second in the series and will do a review shortly, It's a quieter book in terms of plot but the quality of the writing stays high.
Oh, that is excellent news. And I can totally understand why one would want to exchange Norfolk for London. That second King's Lynn photo (4th photo from the top) shows the Corn Exchange, btw, which gets name-checked in Grainger's novel -- it's a club / stage / music pub type venue now.
Btw, the photo of Grainger included in that blog interview looks quite a bit like I actually imagined Smith while I was listening to the book.

These are available in the Kindle Unlimited program, so I can see that I am going to have to try the first one!
I really hope you're going to enjoy it.

Yes, thank you for the lovely photos! Now I have a nice visual of the King's Lynne area. I'd read the interview before and linked to it in someone's comments awhile ago. Happy to see other folks are discovering Grainger's writing and enjoying it too. :)
It's great to see a few mystery series set in Norfolk -- this one and Joy Ellis's Jackman and Evans, too ... it's such a beautiful, atmospheric part of England. I very much enjoyed the time I spent there.

I will definitely have to look into these. Thanks!
Yes, you should -- these and the Joy Ellis books complement each other really well. Or, at least that's my impression after having read book 1 of this series and books 1 and 2 of Jackman & Evans.
