Panchito's father and mother did not want to get out of the car because they felt embarrassed. They felt embarrassed because all the students that were going to college were wearing very nice clothes and they weren't. I think that Panchito did feel out of place because he was wearing boots with pants and a shirt while the guy students wore pants, a nice dress shirt, and shoes and they girl students wore skirts or pants, a nice shirt, and shoes.
