This one was my intro to Gaiman, and I loved it immediately, although part of it might have been his own reading of it. I did try to go back and re-read it later, after I'd finished some of his other books, and found it didn't hold up quite as well.
I seriously thought it was just me. I've tried multiple Gaiman titles and more often than not end up underwhelmed, unfortunately. It's like finding a recipe with all the ingredients you should love but for some reason the end result just doesn't work.
