Foundation really isn't a huge commitment. The first three (and do not read anymore, I warn) clock in at maybe 200 words a piece, so the trilogy is well short of the page count of your average modern doorstopper. It's old school, of course, and some of the social stuff doesn't age so well, but I found it a fun thought experiment anyway.
Good to know. I've read pieces longer than that this year alone (and barring turning fanatic on it, shall avoid the afters :D).
The other part that worries about Asimov, even after reading Caves of Steel and liking it, is that his knock-out mastery wont hold up to a longer bout and I'll end up disappointed.
