Excellent posts! I'm in for "Equity" as well. People will change for better(as in general, has happened) but some things will take more time than our lifetime here on Earth. We have to be patient. Maybe someday we will have the knowledge(I guess it will be a "drug") to "make/turn" all people on Earth "docile/good" or "equally" good on thought and behavior, but when that turns into a real possibility the question will be: should we? For me, the answer is "NO". Equity is enough for we humans(I guess). Lots of people are happier when they are given orders instead of having to "take the initiative" or being proactive. Others feel true to themselves while doing "low level"(in our view) jobs, and so on. We should respect that. Capitalism is not perfect, but it has already shown(some european countries) than it can be "fair enough" or at least "better than the alternatives".
Thanks. That post was far more rant-y than I initially intended.

That reminds me of the film Serenity with the drug Pax consequently creating cannabilistic Reavers and Equilibrium's drug-induced emotionless society created in the aftermath of WWIII.
I agree we have to patient. I bet anyone from ancient times would view our modern society as 'soft', and we in turn would regard them as violent barbarians.
You're right. Germany and the Scandinavian countries seem to be fairing particularly well as mixed economies with less toxic versions of capitalism.
Exactly! And more, I guess you agree with me when I say that it doesn't mean we should just "sit and wait" for the world/people to change for better by itself. It changed because a lot of people in the past fought(and died) for it to change.
