I read these both years ago (I think I still own them, actually), and I don't really remember much about them, but I do remember being very disappointed but the open-endedness of the second book.
That open ended second book was a bit of a let down. It feels like she was, maybe, trying to set up for another book or something, but never got around to it.
I remember thinking the same thing. That's probably why I held on to them even though they disappointed me...I was hoping for a third.
