Staring at puppies staring at nothing is unbelievably therapeutic. :)

It really is! :)
If Bear were a cat, I'd suspect him of thinking of his ineffable effable effanineffable deep and inscrutable singular name ...! :)

Staring and puppies staring at nothing is absolutely therapeutic. At times, we'll realize that Bear is no longer in the living room (because it's too quiet), and think that he's been outside for a very long time, only to find that he's lounging on the deck, just watching the goings-on of outside. And then we stand there and watch him as he watches the outside. lol

And @TA -- Ha! I looked up "effanineeffable" and it lead me to one T.S. Eliot question about what your "ineffable effable effanineffable deep and inscrutable singular name" is. Makes you think. =P Though I DO wonder what he's thinking when he's just sitting out there staring at nothing.
That's what made me think of T.S. Eliot! :) (Btw, if you haven't read "Old Possum's Book of Curious Cats" yet, you absolutely should -- you'll love it.)
