Yeah, I've learned that I can still appreciate the writing of even unpleasant authors, I've just opted to stop following some of them in a social media capacity, to avoid being reminded of the ways their views are making the bookish corners of the internet less pleasant than they should be. Same with reviewers who purposefully start flamewars and are intentionally mean (and unhelpful) in their reviews.
