My brother has been on to me about reading this book, I've brought it (bonus- pretty cover) and now it's on the TBR list :) He's been correct with every other recommendation, I hope he gets this one right too! Great review :)

Sadly, I'm one of those people on whom her magic fails. I kind of like the character name of Fitz Chivalry, though...makes me think of Sir Apropos Of Nothing or similar. Is he a literal bastard or a figurative one?
He's a literal bastard. And it's alright, finding authors that resonate with your own way of thinking is part of the awesome factor in reading new books. I've even had some fails with authors that I love. It happens. :P
I know... *sadness*
