loving the updates. Especially the reading progress one. Great job. One little thing is quite odd though: I am reading mostly Kindle books so I only can go by % when reading those. When I update 75% I think it'd be enough if it only said 75% instead of "75 out of 100 percent"
My problem with the % update on kindle is that I read non-fiction on kindle, where there are a lot of footnotes that I'm probably not going to actually read, so, for example, I've read 24% of my current read, but I'm never going to get to 100%. (I think the text stops at 80%, in this case.)
Thanks again for a great update!
However, I'm not sure that the viewing all reviews on a book is working. I tried it both ways but when typing in the title it came up with a list of random other books with similar but not the same title and when looking at the book page, it might show reviews for the same edition only. So what's the change and why am i not seeing it?
Petra, I am not sure if this helps or not, but if I got to my dashboard and scroll down a little and hit the "reviews" button instead of All Posts, and THEN do the tags search of Pride and Prejudice, I get a ton more than 18 hits and most are of Pride and Prejudice (some are retellings or strange "sequels"). You have to hit reviews first though because when I did it after it unfiltered my result list. I think this may be closer to what you are looking for :D
Tag search title is not a brand new feature, it was added some time ago but maybe not yet discovered by many. We add tips to our release posts as we feel it can be helpful to re-discover and find other interesting features and to find other related books and blogs and you often ask about that.
By inserting Book Title into search tag, you'll see all kind of posts, you can narrow that to "reviews" only. We hope it is helpful and bring some bloggers together and allow to explore new literary lands. Enjoy :)
I always saw a choice for title (and for tags) in the search space. I tested when first on bookreads and it really seemed like title search worked only if title of book was in tag or in the title of the post but would actually skip over reviews of book with that title that didn't mention book title -- as in, a book/bookcover showed and was linked to review post but the post title, body and tags did not actually show the book title (only shown on cover. I guess I need to test again [off to test].
I need to test again for a more popular book with a lot of reviews, but for the "Taste of Home Halloween" book I just tested -- on dashboard it did find all four test reviews (no mention of book title, book title in a tag, book title in post title, and book title in body of review); under blog searching book title only found it when in body or title of paste (I actually though it would find it in tag so that was unexpected).
Of course, it helps on dashboard if after getting search results you scroll down righthand column and change seeing "all posts" to "just reviews" to narrow down.
Duh...I feel stupid. The book/review searching isn't one of the Thursday new features update -- it's just a bit of advice under "tips" -- nothing new, not an update, just the exact same way it's always been and they were trying to give us some tips.
This amazing place. Thank you Dawid and Crew—your incessant work to fix and adapt and listen and jump through hoops to keep us happy just amazes me. Especially the Listening part, that is so beautiful.
Happy thanksgiving to you, too.
Thank you, thank you -- for (almost) always giving us several updates and new features at once, too, so just about everybody gets SOMEthing they've particularly been wishing for! (For me this time it was the discussion room and PM feature updates; new discussion thread notifications especially.)
And since you've told us that consolidated book pages are in the works as well ... dare we hope that today's "search all reviews" update has something to do with those coming soon now, too? (What, me, impatient? Nooo ... :) )
Oh I love this! It is so much less hassle than creating a new post, finding the book, inputting the title and then writing the update. Thanks BookLikes!
But it still doesn't list all my currently reading books there because there's not enough room, nor does it give me an option to show them all despite how long that would scroll down the page (which is what I would prefer). So I still can't update/finish most of my books in any kind of easy fashion. At all. :|

Happy somewhat belated Thanksgiving to all!
