Thanks for the info. I'll bookmark it and make sure I won't go to a film.

I had wondered about the Monuments Men, thanks for including this and the book it was adapted from. I'll definitely be looking into that more. I'd also been interested in which Clancy book the new movie was based on.

Form the info that we've read it looks like the movie isn't based on the particular book but on the character of Jack Ryan created by Tom Clancy, so it's not a pure book adaptation but a variation on Clancy's books.

Ah...not quite sure how I feel about that. I think Chris Pine is a great choice if their hoping to grow an actor through the books/movies, but I'm not sure what I think about just combining stuff into a character movie. Though to be fair the only books/movies I know much about are the ones that had Harrison Ford in them.

Adaptations can be tricky and those loosely attached to plot and characters even more as film makers' imagination can be much different from book author's concept.

True. They can also allow for the maximizing of characters and storytelling in a short period of time. It can be done...it is just rarely done well.

Yeah, let's hope, read and see :)
Read it before the movie ruins it for you forever!
