I agree! And I like the concept of the story, so eventually I would like to read the finished version of this. But the galley version definitely needed to be edited a bit more before it was given to reviewers. I understand that galleys are works-in-progress... but I felt that the state of this one was unacceptable.

There's just no excuse for that. Galley's are unpolished, yes, but that shouldn't make them unreadable. They have a proofreader and copy edit before that surely.
