I remember reading this book and liking it. I didn't know there was a new one out. Thanks for posting that - will have to check it out!
First Frost just came out within the past couple of months. and is set 10 years later. Very similar. I read them back to back so I liked Garden Spells better, but I think that was because I didn't give myself time in between to digest, I think.
