I thought the little boy's deadpan stare was pretty creepy, but maybe that was just the context. I do remember the novel, and the best thing about it was the b&w stills from the movie inserted in the middle.
That's my edition, all right. I didn't realize the book was a novelization of the film until after I'd finished it, though I kept remarking to myself how it often read like a movie. : -)
